It’s Fight Week in Atlanta – NFC 86 on August 27 @ Center Stage

It’s been a sad few weeks in the Greater Atlanta area if you’re an MMA fan.  The last major show in the market was UFC 201 on July 31.

The good news is that over the next several months, die-hard fight fans will get a consistent opportunity to see some live shows in the area.

Although it’s hard to compare the UFC (the mother-of-all MMA promotions) to some of the regional shows, but if you haven’t been to a local fight, you really should give it a try.

To me, there’s nothing more fun than seeing some of the regional shows up close and personal.  It’s an opportunity to see fighters before they potentially make their way up through the ranks and possibly to the Big Show.  And normally there’s not a bad seat in the house in the smaller venues that are typically used.  It’s a great way to support local MMA while at the same time, seeing a live event at a pretty reasonable price.

Here’s a list of Atlanta-area MMA shows that are happening in the near future.

The first event on the list will be hosted by National Fighting Championship.  Here’s a little more info about that upcoming show.
